About this deal

surely not desperate to pluck a homeless man off the street, clean him up re clothe him and present him to her mother as her husband. A paranormal historical romance trilogy box set Watch a presentation of Effrosyni on Youtube about the places and people in Corfu that inspired her stories! She has a degree in English Literature and Psychology and started her working life as an editor on a trade journal. I’d also seen an article about Maxwell Rushton, an artist who’d tripped over a bag of rubbish and apologised to it, thinking it was a homeless person. So, to make life 'easier' for herself, COUGH, Emily told her mum that she got married when she actually hadn't. She manages to talk a homeless man off the streets to move in and pretend to be her husband over the festive season. While I don't recommend Emily's method of finding a partner because Sam's a rare one and picking up homeless men has got to be a massive risk, I really enjoyed the plot. Emily accidentally told her mother that she was married and now with Christmas approaching and her mother coming to stay she has to go and find herself a man! It’s just a few days until Christmas and to finally put a stop to her nagging mother’s matchmaking plans, Emily has convinced her that she’s already married! The lyrics then mention the involvement of a higher power, with the reference to the "good Lord" and a "holy monogamous tango.

I liked creepy Brian and was sort of hoping Emily's Mom would end up with him and I liked Emily's Mom but other than Emily and Sam the remaining cast of characters left a lot to be desired. Slow-burn, fake-dating, that you might think, 'there's a thousand books with that trope', and you're right. It's a few days until Christmas and our leading lady Emily needs a man to pretend to be her husband as her mum is coming to town.

There had been lots of coverage in the media about the dramatic increase in the number of people finding themselves without homes and I found it so sad. Sam steps in, the become acquainted and slowly but surely they act like a proper married couple just off their honeymoon. But same comes with baggage an ex wife, a brother whose marriage is less than perfect and a daughter that he thought was his until a perternity test proved that his ex wife had been having an affair with his cousin. They express doubts about the relationship, questioning whether they truly want to be involved with their partner. Fans of Debbie Johnson, Holly Martin and Christie Barlow will love this heartwarming read from debut author, Carla Burgess.

Literally the only pleasant characters in this book are Emily, Sam, Pam and Brian and Brian's a little iffy. Every time we go see a movie I take my polaroid with me and get a picture of him with the tickets or next to the poster so that we can have the memories recorded. As more of the story unfolded I kept giggling because as readers, we were aware of the secret and her mum wasn't, so 'watching' Emily and her beau trying to match their stories was absolutely hilarious. Genius is the ultimate source of music knowledge, created by scholars like you who share facts and insight about the songs and artists they love. When I started reading this book I couldn't imagine what would happen in this story, and after a few pages I was loving the characters and enjoying this so-particular plot. This portrays the societal expectations and traditional norms associated with marriage, where the narrator and their partner become possessions to each other. out of 10 of romance for the past decade comprise of fake dating (or cliches), but these characters are more interesting, and they're not stupidly blind in love, or annoying and unreasonable.
