The first day I set the clock, I wasn’t 100% sure I had set it right and there was no way to test it beforehand. Great review and you must be really delighted to get that extra half am hour sleep – at such small ales 30mins still means a lot! In 2007 I was having a shower, when an idea arrived in my head for a children's clock that would help my son William to know when it was time to get up in the morning. Bath, pyjamas, stories and milk, it's just that simple but the kids really like that comfort of knowing what's coming next at bedtime and what to expect. I am also hoping to have a Master Owl animated series, so that children around the world can benefit from his wisdom and mindfulness teaching.

You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. We practised by pretending to sleep, wake, see it was blue, pretend sleep again then switch it to the yellow sun then wake up all happy.I found the gro clock tricky to set up the first time and to be honest its on all the time so I haven’t had to do it since but we use it as a great nightlight for Mia’s room on one of the lowest settings so it works for us. Spending the time reading the book together is really nice and she already knows most of the words and finishes off the sentences. The Gro Clock has slotted into our nap and bedtime routines very easily and has had a huge impact on making those times less stressful than they were not so long ago. We have been looking for a suitable light as most are too bright to be left on all night or have a cut-out time of around 20 minutes , which is not enough.

I can now report that since installing the Gro Clock in his bedroom the tantrums have greatly reduced with just an occasional whimper as we leave the room. You’re teaching your kid that they have to stay quiet in bed (ideally asleep, but quiet is better than nothing) until Mr. When setting up the Gro-clock, the instructions say to try not to let your child see you setting the clock up and I wish I had of read that first as Mia watched me playing with the clock and she decided she would quite like to ‘set’ the clock herself for the next week! I set the times as exactly the same as each other (as advised) as Mia and Lottie both don’t nap in the day. Many thanks - kinda desperate to start using the clock as 32 weeks pregnant and not getting much sleep due to my 3 year old!

The kiddies have enjoyed staying in bed every morning watching until the sun comes up and I’ve managed to get a bit more sleep.passed the stage of wanting to press every single button on Mr Sun (which prompted me to set the key lock function on! Co- founder of The Gro Company, Rob Holmes said: “When our son William was three he used to wake us up every morning at 5am asking if it was time to get up. Hailed by many, including one of my personal friends, as the best product they’ve invested in for helping to ensure their little ones do not get up too early, I was a little apprehensive as to how the Gro Clock would be received by BattleKid, bearing in mind he is only 20 months old. The Gro Clock has a great built-in energy-saving mode so although it is mains operated you don’t need to worry about energy consumption. You can choose to display the digital time or not, handy for helping to teach older children the time.

Since bringing this into our bedtime routine BattleKid will now actively look to get into his cot, without the protests we were getting, ready for his story (or nap if during the day). At night, or nap time at the weekends, we go into his room, and after I’ve pressed the magic button, we say “Bye-bye Mr Sun” and watch while he winks, closes his eyes and makes way for blue, sleepy Mr Star. It can be set as a simple digital clock – ideal for older children who are learning about time – or just as a simple sun and star image.

We have been using the Gro-Clock for a couple of weeks now, and it has become a vital part of our bedtime routine. The Gro Clock also conforms to the highest British and European Standards, big pluses in my scientific books, as with all Gro Company products. The Gro-clock also comes with a beautifully illustrated book which helps to encourage children to stay in bed longer, which means more sleep for them and more sleep for you! When it gets to the wake up time you have chosen, the display will change to a yellow sun, meaning it is time to get up. Since using the clock I have noticed a happier, more rested toddler and I have definitely felt the benefits myself.
