Bat Out of Hell spawned two Meat Loaf sequel albums: Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell (1993) and Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose (2006). a b "500 Greatest Albums of All Time Rolling Stone's definitive list of the 500 greatest albums of all time". Yes, you can tell that the surround mix of Heaven Can Wait was derived from the two track master, but it still maintains a sense of ambiance. Since this review entry is tagged as the multi-channel hybrid version, that is the main focus of my review.

Steinman fought with Kovac over the edit of "I'd Do Anything for Love", with the manager advising that radio stations were unlikely to play anything over five minutes long. It is in The Dream Engine that the spoken word piece "Hot Summer Night" originates, [30] and is the earliest work that appears on the Meat Loaf album, where it is performed by Jim Steinman and actress Marcia McClain.Steinman asserts that it was "underpromoted", having a reputation of being "damaged goods because it had been walked around so many places. According to Meat Loaf, Rundgren put all the arrangements together because although "Jim could hear all the instruments" in his head, Steinman hummed rather than orchestrating. Bat out of Hell was always a DOG of release sound wise but this edition has corrected an awful lot of what was wrong. The track quotes lyrics from Bat Out of Hell's " Paradise by the Dashboard Light" ("It was long ago and it was far away"), as does the next track, "Wasted Youth", a spoken word fantasy monologue (a remixed version of "Love and Death and an American Guitar" from Steinman's Bad for Good album). It spent seven weeks atop the UK Singles Chart, making it the most successful single in the UK that year. Bat Out of Hell is often compared to the music of Bruce Springsteen, particularly the album Born to Run.Below we have listed all the most popular versions so you can easily browse through to find the Bat Out Of Hell CD (or vinyl, if available) you're looking for. In the liner notes it explains that the final multitracks for Paradise and Heaven Can Wait were burned in a fire. Despite that, the sonic presentation of the surround mix is fuller and more spacious than the stereo counterpart. The cover art was illustrated by sci-fi/fantasy artist Michael Whelan, following the style of Richard Corben's cover for Bat Out of Hell.
