Mi piacciono i libri di ricette i cui ingradienti sono "normali" e specialmente quelli in cui molte, se non tutte, le ricette hanno la foto alla fine. Overall it feels as though it has been put together too quickly and the recipes simply aren't as dependable as they should be.

She continues …”It’s important to make a commitment to eating well, but it’s also important to be realistic…To me, eating well is far simpler than it is often made out to be. This is a complete, all around manual for making interesting, original, delicious and nutritious vegetarian meals every day of the year. Whether you’ve been vegetarian for years or are new to the lifestyle, this stylish cookbook is the perfect modern guide to meat-free dining. If you were falling into a rut with your vegetarian cooking, this book will sky-rocket you out of the depths. It allows us to honor the people we are cooking it for and it means that we also get a chance to sit round a table, eat, drink, and really spend time with one another. You had to browse through the whole book every time if you weren’t sure what you wanted to make that night. The Buddha Bowl is a nice assortment of potatoes, green beans, peanuts, rice, carrots, tofu and the aforementioned massaman curry paste. This book is filled with vegetarian and vegan recipes and many of them are organized by how long it takes to cook.

The other thing I absolutely love is her sections on different variations--like a formula for omelet fillings with a chart full of about 40 different ingredients and how you can combine them in different ways to change things up, or a similar chart for easy salads to pack and take to work with you for lunch, with 30 or so ingredients. I ended up crossing out and rewriting confusing sentences so that next time, the recipes will come together faster. It's an easy one for family cooking during the week, but I would recommend her first book over this one! She uses plenty of textural differences--crunchy, like nuts, seeds or crispy fried veggies; and smashed, pureed and creamy, fresh, sauteed, boiled, roasted, broiled, braised. Author Anna Jones was one of the originals in Jamie Oliver's apprentice kitchen, Fifteen (also dubbed the new Nigella Lawson by The Sunday Times), and eventually became his food stylist. A Modern Way to Cook is so full of fresh ideas that I stopped turning down the corners of the recipes I wanted to make when I realized it was pretty much the whole book.

Because it was organised by the time it took to make recipes, I found it really hard to find the recipes i wanted to make. What I mean by a modern way to eat is that there is a way of getting the best of everything – and not miss out in any way," she says. Chapters will be broken down by time (recipes for under 15, 20, 30 or 40 minutes) and also by planning a little ahead (quick healthy breakfasts, dishes you can make and re-use throughout the week).

Pat out to form a thick rösti and cook over high heat for a couple of minutes, then put into the oven and roast for 20 minutes. When I went to cut into them, two hours after they came out of the oven, the middle was still a gooey, liquid mess. Not every recipe is something i would eat but this book has definitely made me more joyful and confident in the kitchen. Great book as a source for everyday meals: There are whole chapters that provide recipes that can be completed in 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes.
