Description

With the Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini we are reviewing today, Lian Li is looking into the opposite direction by offering a more compact version than the original. Categories: Cases, Small Case Tags: airflow, aluminum, ATX, gaming, GPU vertical optional, ITX, M-ATX, mesh, Mini Case, Modular case, O11D, pc case, PC tower ATX power, tempered glass, USB 3. This extra space allows for a more sophisticated and in-depth cooling system to be installed, including a roof mounted 360 or 280 radiator. This does not hinder the function of the GPU or the airflow in any way, and is a great way to display those show-stopping pieces. Supports mini-ITX, micro-ATX, ATX, and E-ATX motherboard sizes and up to 9 fans to cool the chassis.

The I/O bars are surrounded by an acrylic strip at the top, brushed silkscreen underneath for a premium-finish effect, and glass at the front for a nice and stealthy look in the black version. This is true up to the point that I started building the final system, which uses two 360mm radiators and an ATX motherboard. If you have either an ATX or Micro-ATX motherboard installed, you cannot fully access the motherboard socket from the rear, so if you wanted to swap coolers, the motherboard would have to be removed entirely.Currently the Silverstone SFX-L 1000 watt is the highest power SFX PSU on the market (although CoolerMaster has announced 1100 w and 1300 w models are on the way). They all connect with the little hinges and tabs into the frame, so they are not going to go anywhere but you have to be careful not to like accidentally remove the top panel and forget to remove the glass because they will slide out if you were to lift the case. Small tower with big airflow, the O11 AIR MINI provides modular design for ATX, M-ATX or ITX motherboards.

This being a semi showcase PC enclosure in terms of like having glass in the front and the side you can do all types of cool stuff with lighting or just create a really clean build.e.: being able to use full size ATX PSU, an even smaller footprint while still able to hold full size ATX motherboard). If you like this size chassis, but you want to stick with all air cooling, or nothing more than a 280mm AIO cooler, I would probably recommend the slightly newer, O11 Mini Air. Developed in collaboration with renowned overclocker der8auer, the O11 Dynamic Mini from Lian Li is not only a smaller version of the previous O11 Dynamic case but offers enhanced functionality. Lian Li have managed to minimize footprint space while still being able to fit all types of enthusiast hardware inside of it.

Given the temp results and the ability to use up to a 170mm cooler on the CPU, you could make a completely competent air cooled system in the O11D Mini. The rear panel of the Lian-li O11 Dynamic Mini Case - Black l O11D MINI -X can be adjusted in accordance with your unique preferences with the choice of 3, 5 and 7 expansion slots. I had prefer the SSDs and storage to be separate from everything else you have to route in terms of cables.

Lian Li did address this issue somewhat with the dual PSU bracket kit they sell for the O11D Mini, but I would still rather have a full, single ATX power supply. Even the best modern SFX power supplies are going to create more heat and noise than a quality ATX unit. It’s possible to mount up to three 120 mm fans at the top/bottom (or two 140 mm ones) and two 120/two 140 mm ones at the side, as well as, last but not least, a 120 mm fan at the back. I still appreciate the fact that we have something smaller that can still accommodate full ATX hardware except for an SFX power supply. The Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini accommodates CPU coolers up to 170 mm in height meaning there are virtually no limits when choosing a powerful processor cooler.

Perhaps you can do a build in that and revisit this review (maybe compare the two of these cases with each of their pros and cons, etc. With the ability to mount fans on the roof and space beside the motherboard for radiators, it’s a perfect fit for high-performance setups. At 38 liters of displacement, the O11D Mini isn’t exactly a small form factor build, but in comparison to a traditional pint of English lager, it is certainly not a large case either.

I have worked with this case for the last couple of days, trying to get an understanding of what it’s capable of, and who exactly it’s for, so I hope you enjoy this review. I’ve also reviewed some monster cases with tons of water cooling support, but those wouldn’t really be ideal for his current location. The temperatures in the O11D Mini were actually outstanding for such a compact chassis, especially the GPU temps. Initially it was rather disappointing, but once the latest driver was installed it was quite impressive.
