Their father asked all three of his daughters when they were still young girls to promise him that they would always stay together and look out for one another. In 1942, as teenagers, they left their home (a little family background at the start, along with the basic conditions and circumstances of the times)….

Just before their father’s death, three young girls make him a promise: they will stay together no matter what. At the time, Morris was on a promotional tour of South Africa, instead of flying back to Australia, she took a detour and headed to Israel to meet the sisters. In 1942, while Magda is in the hospital recuperating from a fever, 19-year-old Cibi and 15-year-old Livi are sent to Auschwitz. With sections divided by years rather than perspective, each sister’s point-of-view is explored in most chapters, sometimes on the same page, resulting in the “head-hopping” problem.

What they went through was terrible, but she's managed to ensure we don't forget the beauty the sisters experienced too.

Three Sisters unveils a different, yet equally brutal side to the I loved this, just a tiny bit predictable, still the killer twist lives up to its name, very satisfying. I like books in this genre as my bookclub is currently on a literature-snob bent and sometimes you just want to read a book and try to enjoy it, right?Their incredible survival, their arrival to and settlement in Israel, and their thriving ‘tribe’, are all evidence of their victory. Each and every time I went to put it down to do something my fingers were itching to pick it back up as I just HAD to know what happened next! I won't go into more details as I don't want to risk giving anything away but Owen really has done an amazing job constructing an addictive and explosive psychological thriller with fantastic and varied characters that you just won't be able to put down! Speechify lets you listen to any text, including all books in the world with the best voices out there!
