About this deal

The box is just large enough to fit a 32x32 baseplate and comes shrink wrapped in the form of a standard lift off lid as found with most board games.

The players must lead their heroes to the center of the ever shifting and changing labyrinth before the Minotaur catches them! This is actually an exceedingly fantastic turn of events and I can’t wait to play their labyrinths by their rules. You build the basic maze with the LEGO pieces and then you block your opponents knight(s) by moving the walls of the maze, you can also send in the Minotaur who can move eight places at a time. The microfigs are nice, although I'm not sure how useful they'll be in other MOC's with the unique heads/printing. The booklet is multi lingual, so there are also french , german , italian and spanish pages as well.Unfortunately, on their way, they encounter the one and only bull of Minos, the half-man, half-bull beast, the Minotaur. I’m making this project as a love letter to the Percy Jackson and the Olympians franchise, in honor of the Disney+ show, and in the hopes this will inspire LEGO to make a Percy Jackson and The Olympians theme.

Some LEGO® sets contain small parts that are NOT suitable for and may pose a hazard to children under 3 years of age. br>
The mighty Minotaur, a mythical creature, protects a secret temple hidden deep inside a labyrinth. The LEGO dice is a definite winner, although it would be better if the numbered tiles were easily available to make a standard die as well as the custom ones used in most games. In LEGO Battles: Ninjago, when Sensei Wu rescues and reunites two Builders, one says "Now we can get back to our game of Minotaurus!

If the grey side comes up, the player can move one of the grey walls within the maze or add in an extra one from the edge of the board. The victors declared themselves Gods, while the vanquished were renamed Titans and forever imprisoned within the bowels of Mount Tartarus. In it, players must get their three Spartans to the temple at the center of the maze without being caught by the dreaded Minotaur. A shot of the unmade dice and tiles, I can't help but feel LEGO have missed a small opportunity here.

I am always sensitive to the fact that my little geeks do not yet have the emotional intelligence to clearly understand that a bad move or play in a game does not mean they are being attacked or are dumb.

The rules to build the game are easy to follow and provide a fun opportunity for you and your little geeks to work together.

Speaking of minifigures, the project comes with 3: Percy Jackson equipped with his iconic pen-sword, the Anaklusmos (“Riptide”); Grover Underwood with built satyr legs and a pair of separate legs so he can sit down; Sally Jackson equipped with a red-colored coat to distract the Minotaur. After finding out that he is a demigod, Percy, Sally, and Grover are in a rush to get to the safety of Camp Half-Blood. Their desire to actually “play” the game has been trumped by their greater excitement of creating their own labyrinths and rules, however. Since Minotaurus works on the small scale of individual LEGO nubs, counting spaces and moving the pieces can be fiddly. It has all the elements he loves: the LEGO brand, the ability to create and design your own game layouts, the ability to create your own game rules, and hours of fun.

The freedom of movement available and the need for simple strategy mean that younger children will need a lot of help. The only rule that must be followed when placing a wall is that the player starting routes can never be fully blocked. The whole package is a successful combination of the tactile construction of LEGO with the longevity of a board game, complete with opportunities for creativity and design. Boardgames are my second-favorite hobby, so combining Legos and boardgames is like mixing chocolate and peanut butter!
