About this deal

Stuart teaches clients to relearn movements that have long since been forgotten: breathing from the diaphragm, not the chest; breathing through the nose, not the mouth; or even simply adjusting posture. Aby ste jasne premýšľali, dobre spali, prekonávali choroby alebo získavali nejaký prospech z cvičenia či iných zdravých praktík. In tandem with the active breathpod channel, and/or audible and the book you can learn and take home.

Breathwork also gave me a connection to a deep part of myself, beyond the thoughts and judgements of my mind. In contrast, when you breathe through your mouth, it can cause sleep apnea, raises the levels of carbon dioxide and “rings the alarm bells” to trigger anxiety. BAD breathing is like wearing your winter clothes on a hot summer’s day… (and not knowing that your shorts are in your bag). je sliznica, vlhká tenká vrstva tkaniva, ktorá vystiela vnútro nosa a produkuje hlien, ten lepkavý neobľúbený materiál. It explains the physiology of breathing, the ways in which it impacts the body, and the kinds of breaths individuals can employ to discharge stress and achieve optimal performance.I certainly feel more conscious of my shonky breathing activities after reading his new book, in which he describes humans as “pugs of the primate world”. Mine is definitely localised at the top, so I try working the diaphragm, by breathing “almost into your hips”. As a yoga teacher today and (competitive figure skater)now recreational figure skater and asthmatic your breath is one that anchors you, resonates you, “when you breathe you quite intimately connect to everything” .

Either that, or there was something special that I’d overlooked - this power that we all have to tap into. A deliberate mixture of accessibility and information that keeps the book feeling practical rather than too mystical. Since tragic loss brought him to breathwork, Stuart has changed the lives of thousands through his signature sessions. My adolescent brain was, of course, not open to his always-at-the-ready tutelage in the ways of pranayama – the ancient yoga practice of breathwork.

Chief sub-editor Rosie Morton meets Edinburgh’s Stuart Sandeman, breath coach and Radio 1 presenter, as he celebrates his best-selling debut book on the power of breathwork. This book is so good, I now question how I see, hear, taste as it has taught me that we take so mucb for granted that we could inadvertently be causing ourselves damage or at the very least not reaching our potential just by simply breathing incorrectly. This book is full of practical exercises, there's literally hours dedicated to the practice of breathing for different situations and the evidential knowledge and storys to help inform and back up the information shared. De focus ligt aanvankelijk op oefeningen om rustig te leren ademhalen, waarna hij het verband gaat leggen met de invloed op je lichaam. During the coronavirus pandemic I wanted to create a short morning breathwork practise to help people start their day with positive intention and feeling good.

I had the occasion of taking an in-person session with Stuart that was profound and life changing so I was excited to get my hands on his new book. Autor vysvetľuje, že naše dýchanie pomáha ovplyvňovať hladinu energie, našu tvorivosť, vie zmierniť stres aj bolesť, pomáha regulovať emocionálny stav.

Audio is best especially for the guided and timed exercises but the book contains some pictures that help visual learners. Life can often feel overwhelming and with pressure from school, relationships and social media it can be hard to remember to take a bit of time for ourselves – to take care of what’s going on for us on the inside. This morning, I followed my first Breathpod Instagram live session, and I can already sense that Stuart is onto something. Amazed at my own transformation, I realised that if breathwork could help me, then it could help others. What’s was interesting is the sense of connection that soon grew in those that have joined those sessions – There is such a loving, supportive Breathpod community – likeminded people that want the best for themselves, others and the planet.

More than the breathwork and the calmness that it brings of the danger passing, it helps us to dive a bit deeper into our being, the being that wants to heal, the being that wants to find out the reason, the being that wants to find the purpose of it all. It was longer than I thought it needed to be, and I didn’t connect with some of the sports performance and transcendence material. An open honest book with easy to follow steps that can only help those who read it the chance to regain back their power through the strength of breath.
